TS EN 442-2 Radiators and Convectors Test Supervision

TS EN 442-2 Radiators and convectors - Part 2: Supervision within the scope of Test methods and evaluation Standard

Within the scope of the TS EN 442-2 standard, the inspection service covers radiators and convectors (hereinafter referred to as "heating devices") to be installed in central heating systems in residential buildings fed by water or steam at temperatures below 120 ° C provided by a remote heat source.

These:

¦ Steel radiators (radiators made of steel sheet or coil)

¦ Cast iron radiators

¦ Cast aluminum radiators

¦ Extruded aluminum radiators

¦ Tubular radiators

¦ Finned tube convectors

This certification scheme does not apply to fan-assisted radiators and convectors and stand-alone heating devices.

Components e.g. valves, monitoring devices for fluoride content, etc.

The current inspection service specifies the product as well as the requirements for testing, inspection and certification.

Terms and testing requirements

The following reference documents form the basis of testing and certification.

For dated references, only the printed version applies.

For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any changes) applies.

Requirements for the product

Limiting deviations (dimensions and tolerances)

Dimensions specified in the design drawings will be complied with, taking into account dimensional tolerances. In addition to the requirements of EN 442-2, table 3 must not be exceeded for the respective heating appliance. Requirements for the material properties and wall thickness of wet heating surfaces are defined in EN 442-1, clause 4.1.

Materials

The materials used in the manufacture of radiators and convectors shall comply with EN 442-1, clause 4.2.

reaction to fire

Heating devices are considered to react to class A11 without testing, unless they are coated and have a thickness of 1.0 mm and a mass of 1.0 kg / m2 per unit area2.

If the coating exceeds 1.0 mm thickness or 1.0 kg/m2 mass per unit area, or for heating devices manufactured from other materials not subject to the decision referred to in footnote 2, the devices shall be tested and classified in accordance with EN 13501-1 and the standards specified therein and the resulting class notified.

Only one model should be tested to evaluate the response of a species

Disposal of Hazardous Substances

Surface treatments should not contain any chemicals that are not allowed in building products. The release of hazardous substances will comply with the relevant European Economic Community directives (as well as EU No. 1907/2006 (REACH)).

Sealing compression and pressure withstand pressure

The specifications of clauses 4.5 and 4.7 of EN 442-1 apply. The maximum operating pressure must be given in the manufacturer's technical documentation. If the same type of heating devices are produced for different operating pressures, radiators and convectors for higher operating pressures must be clearly marked (e.g. with a stick label)

With the numerical value of the corresponding working pressure.

Surface defects

According to EN 442-1, clause 4.8, the heating device must be free of burrs that could cause personal injury.

Nominal thermal outputs

Radiators and convectors covered by this standard shall be tested for thermal outputs in accordance with EN 442-1, clause 5.8, and their thermal output values shall be declared in [W].

Standard thermal output and thermal output under different operating conditions are determined according to EN 442-2.

Thermal output under different operating conditions

Where necessary, the thermal output at different operating conditions of radiators and convectors covered by this standard shall be determined in accordance with Annex C and Annex D of EN 442-2: 2014 and declared as the characteristic equation and the relevant exponential number.

Durability

The protection against corrosion stipulated in EN 442-1, clause 4, can also be achieved by methods other than coating (e.g. galvanizing, chrome plating, anodizing or through base material high-grade steel, copper, etc.).

By covering the heating device and providing protection against corrosion, paragraph 5 of EN 442-1 applies. Verification shall be made at the manufacturer's declaration in accordance with Annex D.

Observation by the manufacturer

The manufacturer must have a quality management system. Verification shall be made at the manufacturer's declaration in accordance with Annex D.

Marking and catalog data

Marking

Heating appliances and their packaging must be legibly and permanently marked with the following specifications (see also Clause 6.3):

¦ manufacturer's name

¦ identification of the production area

¦ registration number (see clause 6.3)

¦ maximum working pressure

Catalog data / accompanying documents

In addition to the specifications given above, the technical documentation (especially accompanying documentation) must contain the following information:

¦ Reference to EN 442-1

¦ Maximum working pressure

¦ Standard thermal output

¦ Standard characteristic equation

¦ inlet water temperature (products with protective casing)

¦ Response to fire class

Inspection Services within the Scope of EN 442-2 Standard are as follows.

- Factory production control

- Supervision and evaluation of tests
