VEGAN Product Certification Program
Astor Mayer has developed its Vegan Product Certification program and has been continuing to certify products under this program since 2015.
The following product groups are certified under the Astor Mayer VEGAN trademark:
- Vegan Food (Food, all beverage groups (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and dietary supplements)
- Vegan Packaging (Packaging materials used for products certified under the Vegan product certification program, food packaging, wooden packaging, etc.)
- Vegan Textiles (Fashion and textile products)
- Vegan Cosmetics (Makeup products, personal care items, etc.)
- Vegan Household and Cleaning Products (Household equipment, home textile products, paper towels, furniture, carpets, etc.)
Additionally, Astor Mayer is a member of the PATE organization and is actively working on animal rights, preventing the use of animals in testing, and promoting the substitution of animal-derived products with alternatives.
The following are required for Vegan Product Certification by Astor Mayer:
General Documentation
- Official documents of the company (Activity certificate, tax plate, trade registry, etc.)
- Company logo in JPG / GIF or PNG format
- Commercial trademark in JPG / GIF or PNG format
- Application document (sent with offer approval)
- Other certifications such as ISO, IFS, BRC, BIO, HVE
Finished Product Documentation
- Finished product composition, formula/recipe, and safety data sheet
- Copy of the finished product labeling document (JPG / GIF or PNG)
- Finished product image (JPG / GIF or PNG)
- Details of primary and secondary packaging
Technical Documentation
- Laboratory test: The test certificate for each product, including the latest internal and external analysis, must reference the relevant regulations (e.g., migration, heavy metals, etc., to comply with food contact material regulations).
- Test report confirming that the product contains no animal-derived ingredients
Raw Material Documentation
- Raw material details, technical data sheet, certificate of origin, and safety data sheet (+ If applicable, specify the REACH CAS number or registration number for substances subject to mandatory reporting.)
- Certificate confirming that raw materials have not been tested on live animals
- Supplier certificates (ISO, IFS, BRC, etc.)
Subcontracting
- Declaration for subcontractors (if the finished product is produced by a company other than the operator)
VEGAN Product Certification
- The ASTOR-MAYER VEGAN® certificate is issued for a period of 18 months.
- The certificate must be renewed after the expiration date.
Steps of Certification Process:
- Application / Certification Agreement
- Assessment
- Production Inspection (Inspection lists tailored to the relevant industry)
- Inspection Report / Certification (Certification officers review the reports to assess compliance with our standards.)
- Monitoring
- Renewal upon Expiration (Annual surveillance audits may be conducted, and samples may be taken for laboratory analysis. Any non-compliance will lead to corrective actions and/or sanctions.)
USE OF THE VEGAN LOGO Once the certification process is completed, the VEGAN logo will be sent to you for use on the product.
