CODEX ALIMENTARIUS Compliance Certificate

Codex Alimentarius Guidelines provide evidence-based information and recommendations along with recommended procedures to ensure that food is safe, of good quality, and suitable for trade. Controls are carried out in accordance with the rules and standards published under the Codex Alimentarius. Food producers are subject to inspection within the framework of the standards specified in Codex Alimentarius according to their scope of production. During the inspection, Codex Alimentarius rules and standards are applied.

Control Programs and Procedures

To carry out the inspection process in accordance with the applicant institution's scope, control programs are established by ASTOR MAYER.

According to these control programs, an Expert Personnel assigned by ASTOR MAYER conducts an on-site inspection and collects samples in compliance with Codex Alimentarius rules. These samples are taken in accordance with at least the following program:

  • Direct contact with the product
  • Raw materials
  • Packaging
  • Finished product
  • Air, water

Certification Procedures

An audit is planned for Codex Alimentarius Compliance Certification. The applicant is responsible for ensuring the compliance of a product or product group and maintaining quality assurance of the products.

The audit is carried out by evaluating the applicant’s quality assurance system, product assurance system, and analytical results.

Based on the findings of the audit, ASTOR MAYER makes a decision and issues a Compliance Certificate in accordance with Codex Alimentarius rules and relevant standards.
